- Purpose of the Position
The holder of this position will supervise, rehabilitate and oversee the safety and security of the offenders who have been sentenced to the correction facility; He/She will also be the focal point for the Ministry of Justice in the correction department;
- Responsibilities and Duties
- Participate in the development and implementation of the correction department’s strategies that relate to strengthening and development of correction system in Jubaland
- Assist the training of the custodial corps and coordinate its activities as per the Ministry policy and regulations;
- Contribute to the outputs such as quarterly reports and monthly reports, assessments and participate in the development and implementation of the work plan;
- Acts as the focal point for the Ministry of Justice in the correction department;
- Good negotiator
- Honesty: Shows a high level of integrity and will not fabricate responses or misrepresent the program.
- Communication: Confidently expresses self, able to clearly ask questions and help the respondent understand what is needed from her/him.
- Relationship Builder: Able to build trust with people at the rural level and maintain
- Cultural Awareness: Must be aware of and sensitive to the cultural expectations of communities in the area of operation.
- Accuracy: Must be able to interpret and record responses appropriately without distorting the respondent’s meaning or confusing the reader.
- Endurance: Must be able to work for full day working hours in the field across a number of days.
- Continuous Learning and Knowledge Sharing: Willingness to learn more experience and encourage learning and sharing of knowledge.
- Previous Experience with the Ministry of Justice will be an added advantage
- Perform other duties as requested by the staff.
- Qualifications and Experiences
- Diploma in Criminology, social Sciences, Public Administration or its equivalent.
- 3 Years experience in the correction department or the security sector;
- Previous Experience with the Ministry of Justice will be an added advantage

- Purpose of the Position
- The holder of this position drives the vehicle to designated destination and proficiency for effective and efficiency driving service to the ministry staff and other Dignitaries as authorised by the management. Responsible for maintaining allocated vehicles in clean, presentable and roadworthy conditions.
- Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure vehicle comply with minimum operations of security standards such as road safety measures.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance such as oil and proper greasing, water, batteries, brakes and maintain minor repairs.
- Ensure proper cleaning is kept all the time.
- Drive visiting authorities as assigned.
- Drive ministry staff to offices and return them back their home.
- Perform other duties as requested by the staff.
- Ensure vehicle is parked in a save place.
- Qualifications and experiences
- Basic Knowledge of road signs and traffic rules.
- Skills in reading and writing.
- Must have a valid driving license.
- Basic police training.
- 3 years experience in driving
- Competencies
- Safe driving record.
- Skills in minor vehicle repairs.
- Problem solving skills.
- Communication skills
