The Civil Service Commission is established to oversee the proper functioning of the Civil Service of the Jubaland State and to ensure that the Civil Service is efficient and effective in serving the community, affordable within state budget resources, and based on merit and equal opportunity.

The Civil Service Commission is currently recruiting to fill a vacant position of Fire & Emergency OperationOfficer. This is a great opportunity for the right person to progress his/her career with the Civil Service and improve efficiency by evaluating and putting in place new policies andchanges where needed for the benefit of the people of Jubaland State of Somalia JSS).

1. Purpose of the Position

 Prevent and control fires efficiently and cost effectively. Inform the staff fire hazards and locations of fire station assembly

2. Duties and Responsibilities

• Prevent further injury and promote early recovery
• Render humanitarian assistance
• Deals with all administrative and operational duties of the fire station
• Conducts training and demonstrations to employees on proper use of fire extinguishers
• Ensure total loss control and early recovery of services
• Promote teamwork with clear objectives
• Conduct fire drills
• Investigation of causes of fire
• Conduct other rescue operations
• Ensures safe working procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned

3. Qualification and experience

• Diploma in Disaster Management and Emergency Evacuation from a recognized Institution.from a recognized institution
• Training in Disaster Management and Emergency Evacuation
• 3years experience in a similar role in a reputable organizatio

4. Competencies

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must possess good leadership and team building skills.
• Ability to communicate well orally & writing in English and Somali Languages.
• Ability to plan and organize work, including special assignments in order to meet deadlines
